Star Cruises: Day 5 – Gala Night
This is a complete account of our joining the Super Star Virgo Cruise last Mar 10-15, 2018. In this part, you will find what we did inside on our first day in the ship. It is our first time to join a cruise, and as it may not be perfect, we made the most out of the experience. Total cost I incurred on this trip for both my mother and me is approximately Php 63,700 (1USD = 52 PhP, 1HKD = 7.33 PhP).

Summary of Expenses

Today is our last full day in the cruise. We had breakfast at Star Dining, I was so hungry since I was not able to have late snack last night and we did not get the early riser meal.

That morning, queue at the reception was short so I paid my bill using my credit card via express check out. If you still want to purchase anything, on the last night they be accepting cash (HKD only). Indeed, unlike the others who queued for almost 2 hours already, I settled our bill for not more than 15 minutes.

We went back to our room to start packing and have a little rest. We had our snacks inside the room as we still have the chips (baon from Manila) and the pastries from Taiwan and Japan.

We went out for lunch at the Lido at 11:30AM.

My mother had a salad.

After which we stroll around and took some photos on other parts of the ship. We then went to play some Bingo where we almost won the consolation price (1 number left.) My mom and I really enjoyed the Bingo that we played twice in this trip. The cards cost 50HKD for 3 cards (1set) and if you buy two sets, you get another card for free.

We then prepared ourselves for the Gala Dinner later. We dressed up a little as smart casual attire was required. When we went out to the Piazza for the cocktails, most, especially the women were dressed up and were so beautiful.

Entertainment at the Piazza.

There was a small program where the crew of the ship were introduced and it was nice to know that two Filipinos were part of the management team of Super Star Virgo.

We had our full-course dinner at the Pavilion restaurant where we were also entertained by a brief dance number by the crew.

Oh so yummy baked Lobster.

We then went to watch the acrobat show (I forgot the title) at the Zodiac Theater. It is very good and amazing. The same performers as the other nights and they never fail to amaze me. After the show, we went to the deck 10, at the children’s pool to attend the farewell party where we danced to Filipino music.

After the party, we went for supper again at the Lido where we ate our midnight snacks and had coffee.

We finalized our packing that night. On the last night, if you want to check in your baggage, you have to leave it outside your door before 10:30PM. But we decided not to check in our baggage, as these were small and we can carry it by ourselves, so that we will not be delayed the following day and my mother still has a flight to catch up.
