Dahilayan Adventure Park, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon
Dahilayan Adventure Park in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon is around 1.5 hours drive from Cagayan de Oro City proper. It has been there for several years already and I have not yet gone there! There are several plans but failed, mostly due to the availability of transportation.
Luckily, I found out recently about the Magnum Express Shuttle to Dahilayan. Magnum Express also has shuttles from the Laguindingan Airport to the city. They have one trip to and from Dahilayan everyday which costs Php 249 per way. This will depart at their transport terminal in Limketkai Center.
Last Monday, I tried this mode of transportation and arrived at their terminal at 8AM. I bought a ticket and was made to wait until 9AM which is the ETD of their shuttle. At 9AM, I was asked to board a white Toyota Innova, apparently I am the only passenger headed for Dahilayan. Oh, was the ride smooth and I feel special, lol.
We arrived at Dahilayan around 10:30 AM and I was told that should I want to ride back to the city in the afternoon, the shuttle will be leaving at 5PM. I am meeting my friend at the park, so she took the habal habal from Camp Phillips which costs her Php 150. So if you commute from CDO, you will take the van to Camp Phillips and take the habal habal. Or you can take the bus, tell the driver to stop at the highway where you will take the habal habal to Dahilayan.
At first, I was a bit confused, apparently, the area is divided into two, Dahilayan Adventure Park and Dahilayan Forest Park. In the Forest Park, there are picnic tables and play ground for kids. It is also surrounded by many pine trees which make the place even more cooler. The rides and activities in the Forest Park are the ATV, Buggy, Zorbit, Barrel Train, Bungee Bounce, Trampoline, Mini Golf, Tree Top Adventure, Hanging Bridge, and the reason why I went there: the Luge.
A clip on my luge ride below:
To visit the Dahilayan Adventure Park, you have to go out from the Forest Park, just have your hand stamped so that you can come back later. At the Adventure Park are the extreme rides and activities such as Zipline, Dropzone, Skyjump, Phyton Roller Zipride, Flying Lizard and Ropes Course.
On our way back, we did not take the Magnum shuttle since my friend just lives in Damilag, a barangay in Manolo Fortich. We planned to take our lunch in the Del Monte Clubhouse and I still want to have my photo taken at the big pineapple. I want to try the food at the Clubhouse. The first time I was at Del Monte, I only have my photo taken outside the clubhouse as I still cannot afford the food there. And now, I realized it is not that expensive. Well, the steak is expensive I think, but they say the cows butchered for these steaks eat pineapple.
We ordered two cheeseburgers, one spaghetti, one salad, and two glasses of iced tea. I am appreciated that we were given 2 glasses of service water each (without asking), I was so thirsty that time because of walking and the heat of the sun. The burger is soooo yummy. If you know me personally, you would take my word for it. I always eat burgers and I know when its worth it, lol. The spaghetti is also good, I was not able to taste the salad as I do not really like veggies 🙂 Overall we paid almost Php 600 including the service charge. I think for all the food we ate which really made us so full, that is so worth it, I think its even cheap. I really suggest you eat at the Clubhouse.
After our lunch, we went to Kampo Juan, another adventure park located in Barangay Diklum, just a 10-peso jeepney fare and then 25-peso habal habal ride.
